What on earth is going on???

So all day today I’ve been having issues with vBulletin. And no, I’m not talking about one forum - I’m talking about nearly every vBulletin I’ve posted on today which is around 5-6 forums.

First I was having issues with the PHPFox forums and noticed the replies were going towards the top of the thread — as in my replies were showing up #1 … then I had problems with a Private Message showing up as one user - then when I clicked on it - it showed an older (1 month ago) PM I had already read. So…

New Projects coming soon.

I’ve just hopped on 3 new projects… I’m not sure why I’ve done this as my Health problems may slow me down later, if the doctors find anything. All three projects are pretty damn big too!  One is an Automobile Website…actually a Portal full of Auto Info. Another site is for ..I can’t say….but this one will be the biggest of the three. I’m actually excited about this one as I know it will turn out pretty successful on a nationwide level. Then there’s another one that’s like an entertainment type portal. It might come out pretty successful but not huge, if you ask me. It will be kind of different from the others though. I have alot of ideas for this one to make it a little different from other sites that I’ve looked at over the past few days.

All will incorporate PHP, MySQL (I may try oracle for ONE!), AJAX and more web 2.0 designs for them.

Who owns these? Oh, that would be me. :)

I’m just trying to get more sites under my belt now… right now I have about 100 Domains but only about 20 that are built out now. I may start selling some of the other domains later, I guess I’ll see what happens.

Online Terrorism

I’ve been thinking about Black Hat Hackers (crackers) and the things they’re capable of and even my own experiences with “crackers”. In California alot of cities have adopted a law called “Street Terrorism” which usually means “there may not be two or more members of a certain Gang that can walk the streets together”. This law was passed in Los Angeles and Long Beach during the 1990’s for 18th Street and seemed to work, for the most part. Atleast in those cities eyes… they ended up arresting a ton of 18th Street Members, whether they were up to no good or not.

So, why wouldn’t there be some sort of Online Terrorist law? A Law that could be enforced in any country at any time if known crackers communicate with each other? Wouldn’t this help enforce other laws a little easier? I’m sure some countries wouldn’t adopt the law but I’m sure adding to broken laws could push an “anti-crackers” movement throughout the Webmaster Community.

Sure, there’s some “good crackers” but I’m still not sure what’s good about them? I think everybody that can develop on the web has pushed the envelope at one time or another - but those who constantly push the law should get more than what they are currently getting.

Don’t get me wrong… there’s a ton of great “Hackers” out there along with great stories (Kevin Mitnick for example) but there are some who are just a little too close to the borderline of “bad”. Bad being: Those who “let you know a certain directory has its Permissions set too high” or even letting you know that “Hey, check out your site…you weren’t filtering SQL data good enough”, bad.

I think Governments should push “Online Terrorism” as a law and see how it goes. Maybe I’m missing something - maybe there already is such a law I’ve yet to hear about? Either way - they should make it more obvious if there is such a law and more Governments should enforce this law. I’m tired of seeing Companies, especially SMALL companies, invest all that time and energy into their Business only to have to worry about the “online thugs” come in and destroy their hard work.

Eeny meeny miny moe

So I’ve been ripping my hair out over the past few weeks working on all my sites. My main site has been a problem since having to move back to the other server but DAMN it’s finally getting fun again!

We’ve got the NEW artist accounts coming where Artists can create albums (even enter the SKU!), upload songs to those Albums and SELL each song at a price they choose. After they recieve $25.00+ in their account - they get a check in the mail within a week! We’ll even be promoting bands in the new Music section which will be completely rebuilt.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I can’t wait! I’m sure Artists will love the end result!

So next I will have to figure out “what’s next”. I know what I want to do but will I get the time to do it? Let’s hope so!

I have a new project on the horizon too… so hopefully things go well with WUB!

The moment has passed…

When I first created this site almost 3 weeks ago I was posting a ton of stuff…now that it’s a little older, I’m a little less tempted to post. That sucks though! I need to post more because I have alot on my mind lately. Especially with all the projects I’ve been working on. I guess I’ll try to post more on those in the next few weeks when I have more of an update.

On a sidenote — I’ve been working with a few new “web 2.0″ designs over the past few days and they came out pretty nice, if I do say so myself. :)

Programming sucks…

Nah, not really. But I believe I’ve just hit a time in my life when it sucks… maybe all of the work I’ve been getting handed lately. The money’s cool but It’s almost too much at once lately. I’ve still got my big project to finish up here in the next week or two. I will be adding that system to WUB once it’s done, debugged, etc, etc.

It’ll be fun to watch peoples take on it… initially people will love it but as always — they seem to want more and more things added to it, even if they get what they originally asked for. That’s fine, the system has alot of additional items that I will leave out for now until I’m ready to plug them in. YouTube.com aint got sh!t on me!!! haha jk but it will be close :)

“My friend will kick your ass!”

All my life I’ve had p#ssies talk shit and run to friends. All my “friends” knew this too… as a matter of fact though — one of my old “friends” is doing it to me. See… I’ve put this guy on blast on one of my sites because he decided to try and screw over all of the members on there by shutting down the site because he didn’t get his way. That’s B#LLSH!T and I didn’t let it happen in the end. But now it’s amazing to see that this guy is so paranoid of me that he chooses to get some little punk twerp of a kid to talk sh!t online.

I guess what the kid doesn’t realize is: I would slap his ass all the way to L.A. County in real life if he was to come at me like that.

This guy needs to man up and stop putting innocent people in the crossfire and deal with his own problems. He’s constantly looking for ways to screw people over… such as the time he got mad at one of his friends and was going to rat out that dudes sister for growing “pot” in her house. Nobody likes a rat… and luckily he was talked out of it. That’s a disgrace though! He was cool with her but hated her brother and decided he would get at her brother by ratting his OWN FRIEND OUT!

What a deusche bag! Grow up guy!

AJAX For Dummies

So I’ve almost finished reading this book and I must say - it’s not half bad. It’s full of alot of beginners stuff but that’s a good thing because I seem to learn things halfway and get involved in something else and forget most of what I had already learned. So brushing up on the beginners topics wasn’t a bad thing. I like the fact that it used PHP as the Server Side Language, since that is my favorite SSI.

I think this book should be recommended to anyone just starting to learn. Alot of people STILL claim AJAX is still hype… that’s rediculous! Sure, it’s NOT going to perform miracles for anybody and it WILL have alot of future vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF) but who cares? Every bad piece of code will too… I mean seriously, PHP gets hell for bad practice programmers along with other Languages. There’s always going to be Security Flaws somewhere. It’s up to the Programmer to learn Security in his own field, prior to attempting any kind of software engineering. Almost every vulnerability I’ve seen is usually bad practice on the Programmers part so you can’t hold a Language or even several languages (i.e. A.J.A.X.) responsible for those programmers flaws.

I still find it interesting that there’s so many damn Libraries available but so little Visual Documentation! WAKE UP PEOPLE! Video is something to SEE… Everybody learns quicker by SEEING. Don’t be scared…it’s only a microphone. You might sound like a “nerd” but you’ll become more popular with the ladies, believe me.

And ladies love AJAX… especially those ladies looking for cool Websites, trust me. So, do yourself a favor and check out an AJAX book. Once you feel like you’ve got the hang of it — check out AJAX for Professionals. (I think that’s what it’s called. I’ll create a new post on this later, when I’m done reading it!)

This book (AJAX for Dummies) is definately better than the reviews I read on AMAZON!
