Lots Of New Stuff

I have been working on a few different projects over the past few weeks, and 2 are coming up very quickly, and I can’t wait to see the outcome of both!

I haven’t been blogging lately because of these projects, but I will say that one will be discussed in the near future, but I’m not sure “when.”

I also want to talk about Landing Pages, and some people I’ve worked with lately. Actually, I take that back… only one is worth talking about, as she’s been super awesome since day 1, and she always comes through for me when I need a new Design…on time, every time.

You can visit her site here: www.SemanticFlow.com and check out her work. The stuff in there is good, but it still doesn’t justify her work, in my opinion. Some of the LP’s she’s made for me were just amazing, especially for the price.

I’ll definitely be using her services again soon. Give her a shot and see what she can do for your next project!

Logo Designers seem to come and go, don’t they? It seems like every time I find a good designer, they disappear on me, somehow. I’m currently looking for a new one for a few projects, but I’m pretty picky.

I stopped messing with PHP back in 2007 (“for good”), because I was so frustrated with it. I had too many clients, and way too much work, and I was getting extremely stressed out… I wouldn’t even do anything for myself, other than quick redirects, or tiny scripts. But, as of this week, I’m jumping into a few new projects OF MY OWN. I will finally be able to use php for my own projects, unlike before.

Anyone watch 4th and Long with Michael Irvin? Way off topic, I know… but the show was awesome. Can’t wait for future episodes.

I’m still a member of several sites, but I haven’t been very active because of my projects going on… so, if you don’t see me around – PM me and I’ll get to it as soon as I can.

My old host deleted my site and left me hanging like I figured they would one of these days. Assholes. Stay away from HighFluxHosting aka Tremato. They changed names because they were getting shit for their old name, and now I’m going to make sure they understand that it’s not OK to delete people’s shit.

Stupid me…I forgot to make recent backups but, luckily, I found a Cached page through Yahoo! and grabbed all my old posts and put them in accordingly. The bad part? I no longer have about 30 comments that were within those posts… sorry guys!

I have some new posts coming up (ideas anyways) that I’ll try my best to get to in the next week or so… hopefully you’ll find them useful!

Crash And Burn

Category: My Life | 1 Comment

Long story short: I had this site setup on a Reseller hosting package I purchased a long, long time ago through a company called HighFluxHosting, which is now called Tremato, and I was stupid enough to let myself get lazy…

I kept the site on their server, although I had issues with them many, many times. I just never took this blog that serious, I guess. I use it to blog and post my thoughts, but nothing more… if it went down, it would be back up, right? Eh, laziness. Stupid me.

That company is definitely shady as hell, and they deleted my Domain because I “unsuspended” my account, since it shouldn’t have been suspended in the first place.

If you’re using that company, move far, far away. Don’t be lazy… there’s tons of others out there that actually DO want your business. “Tremato” aka “HighFluxHosting” are a bunch of shady assholes. Stay away.

Not only did they ignore my emails, they also made sure they didn’t let me grab any new backups, which I couldn’t seem to find on my PC. Yeah, it’s my responsibility to back up my site, but I figured they’d have SOME class, rather than be the assholes they are.

Oh well, I get even. :)

Twitter: Moving On Up In Search

Category: My Life | 1 Comment

I’ve talked about Twitter Search quite a bit, and even using Twitter Search for Trends. But, it seems that Twitter is doing just what I had hoped… they’re going into competition with the big boys, which makes things that much more interesting.

Twitter purchased Summize a while back and now it seems that the purchase could land them into MAJOR Search Territotry quicker than they could have ever imagined.

According to WebProNews, Twitter will now start following links inside of tweets.

This is awesome. This gives Twitter that much more interest in Social Media (as if it needed any more), as well as a serious look at it’s new Search Engine. Users can now stop focusing on the Nofollow links (Google) and focus on utilizing Twitter as a true Social Platform, with a powerful Search Engine behind it.

Given the fact that Twitter will now be adding in a Reputation Ranking System, this will add more credibility to their Search Engine, in my opinion.

Currently, most users simply use it to see “who’s talking about what.” But there’s so much more to it than that. Twitter has a lot of power behind it when it comes to User Generated Content, which mostly focuses on current trends. This territory that Google can’t get into right now, which is why purchasing Twitter could have been a MAJOR pickup for Google, but the deal never went through.

For Affiliate Marketers, you can easily do a search on Twitter Search and find out just about anything you need to by following outbound links (users will use bit.ly, tinyurl, etc.) that are focused on the subject you’re interested in.

There’s also a lot of useful Search Operators within Twitter Search. Say, for instance, you wanted to see if Nicky Cakes was talking about PPC.

You’d simply type in: PPC from:nickycakes

What if you wanted to see if someone else was talking to “SOB” about Affiliate Marketing?

You’d type in: Affiliate Marketing to:thinklikeansob

If you want to find anyone who has mentioned Jeremy Palmer, you’d put in:

@jeremypalmer

Simple enough!

Now, if you wanted to find links that directly correlated to a Search for…say, PPC, you’d type in:

ppc filter:links

This will bring up ONLY tweets with the term PPC, with links in the tweet.

Want to find Tweets about a subject that are questions?

Type in:  PPC ?

or: Affiliate Marketing ?

Want to find someone Tweeting about Foreclosures within 100 miles of Tuscon, Arizona?

Simple! Type in:

“foreclosure” near:”tuscon” within:100mi

How about finding Trends from a specific date, to now?

Easy stuff… type in:

ad:tech since:2009-04-01

OR

swineflu since:2009-01-01

These are just a few of the amazing Search Operators that can help out anyone who wants to do some Research on Twitter Search.
