I love the Holidays. Always have, always will. It sucks not getting to spend time with certain people you want to be with during those times, but there’s always someone there to brighten your day.
Kinda sappy, I know.
But, this Christmas I went all out. I spent way more money than I ever have and ended up over my budget by 100%!
Was it worth it? I think so…
I’m a giver… I love seeing people happy when I give them stuff (so many jokes…so little time).
I spoil my nephews, that’s for sure. I guess because I don’t have kids of my own, but whatever. I love to see them happy and I never really had any Uncle’s that spoiled me when I was younger. Well, not like the way I spoil these little brats.
I got my little sister and her husband a new PS3 and a few games for them, as well as a few movies. I also got the kids a few games… I figure they needed the Bluray player for their new HDTV. Plus, I haven’t really gotten them or their kids much over the past few years… I’m not good with shopping for babies – and their kids are Toddlers + 1 baby. This year it makes it much easier…minus the baby, who will probably hate me when he reads this later in life!
Seriously…
I feel bad because I wanted to get my parents something really big, but I have to wait for a month or so to give them that present (hard to explain and I can’t do it here for several reasons). Their birthdays were just last month and I got my mom an Amazon Kindle and I got my dad a really nice Desk Chair…so this Christmas will just be a gift card and a “coming soon…”-type explanation LOL
I remember being all excited to open presents when I was a kid… I remember seeing how Adults would watch your expressions when you opened their gifts — so you HAD to smile, regardless of your true inner-feelings!
…I usually did.
I was definitely not spoiled when I was a kid. But, my parents always gave us the absolute BEST Christmas’ ever. And that’s what matters…
So, no matter how hard things may seem in life — at least smile for the Holidays! The little ones DO remember these days!
