Owner Of Digital Point Being Sued

Files under My Life | Posted by Clint Lenard

OK, Nothing NEW here… I think everyone and their mom has heard about his by now - BUT, I couldn’t resist this one…

Someone had commented on his Birthday thread about

“May be we should order a b’day cake from eBay.

Happy birthday shawn!”

Yes, it WILL be stuffed with cookies.

In case you haven’t heard the entire story, Shawn’s been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

I think Nicky Cakes summed it up pretty nicely, actually.

Irony? Yes, for all of you DP members - it IS ironic…

I’ll be ebay will set precedent and other big sites will follow suit, like Amazon.

I know a lot of Black Hatters that are raping Amazon’s system with Cookie Stuffing methods and seem to be getting away with it, no problem.

It makes me think that Amazon doesn’t really care at this point - as long as it brings them business. I mean they DO only pay out like 4%, right? Something small like that…

Whereas Ebay actually pays out a BIG fee for new signups ($30+, right? Can’t remember…) PLUS a percentage of the sale that the new signup’s purchase.

I can see companies like Commission Junction stepping up and doing this, but I’m not so sure who else is that big and paying that much? Then again, it’s pretty early for me. =)
