I’ve used a lot of different hosting companies, but few have been very good. I choose to use Reseller Hosting accounts as I run a lot of different sites.
The problem with most hosting companies providing Reseller accounts, is that they, themselves, are resellers as well. A lot of them seem to be using The Planet… and the success rate with using these companies have been horrible. I had one of my many successful sites go down for a week last month, which was a loss of Hundreds of dollars, at least… Like I said, I run a lot of different sites and rather than focusing on one - I choose to use a lot of different niches to provide my income with Affiliate Marketing.
Downtime doesn’t just hurt your income while the site is down, it hurts income down the stretch when Google and other SE’s see that your site has downtime issues… their job is to provide relevant search results to their users. Even if you’ve got the best site — “is your site up?”, is what matters, too.
HostGator.com has been a good change of pace for most of my sites, as of late. I hate putting too many sites on one account for many reasons… but HostGator.com seems to be the best, by far, over the past few months when dealing with uptime.
This blog here uses a different reseller account that, to say the least, has not been good with uptime over the past year. Some months it works out great… others, not so much.
Just remember that a cheap host can cost you a lot more money than you saved! Hosting DOES matter… and it can be the biggest bank breaking issue you face as an Affiliate Marketer/Internet Marketer.
