Failure Is Not An Option – Why I Cannot And Will Not Fail

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

I wasn’t born into a bad family… I was born into a great family. A family who was and has always been there for me.

I wasn’t raised in the worst neighborhood in the Nation. I was raised in a bad neighborhood during my teenage years but I made the decisions, nobody else did.

I took it upon myself to make sure I was involved in every possible bad choice I could get involved in, nobody else did that to me.

I got involved with the wrong people… that was my mistake. But they were my friends. Some of them are no longer with us, some went to Prison and some became drug addicts… some still run the same life I got out of… some cleaned up and I’m proud of them (you all know who you are).

I was lucky. Out of every bad choice I made – I still breathe, talk and walk. I’m a survivor of Southern California. There’s millions of us but I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth every time I look back. I never even got shot… out of all the times I’ve been involved in shootings. Never got “stabbed”, although I’ve been cut. I did get beat over my head with a bat but survived through home made stitches.

I’ve been through a lot of stuff… all my mistakes.

It’s funny how some people look back and use “I” or “Me”. I did that for a long, long time. But lately I’ve come to realize that my mothers High Blood Pressure was more than likely caused by me. No, I’m not her only child but I’ve given her the most stress, that’s for sure.

My Parents got the hell out of California during the late 90’s and moved to Texas because my dad got a transfer offer from Northrop Grunman for more money than he made in Cali. He took that offer and ran… who wouldn’t? The cost of living in Cali is ridiculous. You can buy a house in Texas and pay less for the monthly mortgage than you pay in rent for an Apartment in Cali.

I never blamed them… but I missed my family!

I know my mom stressed out like crazy when she didn’t hear from me. Getting in touch with me was nearly impossible… and I rarely let her know I was OK. I look back now and couldn’t imagine how “I” would have felt. I was a problem… she knew the people I ran around with (Gang Members) and knew (through my big mouthed sisters) what kind of problems I had faced in the past.

I wonder how she felt when I called her from Jail? I’m ashamed to admit that I had done that… I didn’t call her to ask her to bail me out. I just called her to let her know.

The next time it happened – she never found out. Neither did my sisters. I realized that she didn’t need to know that type of stuff.

Now that I’m “grown up” and trying to make up for my past mistakes – I still think about one thing I told my mom when I was a little boy… I always seen how we struggled so hard in California.

I told my mom that “When I get rich – I’m going to buy you a big house!”. I was just a little kid… I never realized how hard life was. I didn’t understand that life was more difficult than watching TV, going to school and coming home to play with friends.

My thought process changed… although I’ve always been a momma’s boy. I don’t show it and most people wouldn’t believe me when I say that. But I am… big time.

Now I’m completely changing my Career, again, knowing that I have helped too many other people make too much money in this line of work. I’ve seen a lot of people become millionaires in my life. From complete dirtbag’s to “great people” who deserved it.

At this point in my life I feel like I work entirely too hard for others and never get the time to spend on my own dreams.

I remember my Grandfather telling me “one day you’re going to be a millionaire”. This was when I was 20… coming from a guy who was a self-made millionaire, that meant a lot. My grandfather struggled through some of the roughest time periods and locations of the 20th century. From his father leaving him for months when he was 8 years old to having to work through the dustbowl in Oklahoma. He became a Real Estate Investor and a Car Dealer and made a lot of money doing so. But my father never took a dime from him, although my grandfather tried giving him money.

My Father was always too proud. While all of his family was working at my Grandfather’s car lot – my dad got a job somewhere else so he could buy his own car.

He was smart… I guess. He thought it would keep him away from family drama but after my grandfather passed away a few years ago – things are back firing on those plans. A few family members are complete moochers and taking my grandmother for everything she has left. My dad and uncle are trying to stop it but what can you do? My grandmother is lonely and the only time her kids visit her are to borrow money it seems. Same with several of her grandkids.

So I’ve come to realize that just because life might have been hard – it doesn’t get any easier.

Life is full of surprises and it’s pretty scary as you get older.

I do know one thing: I will not fail because I cannot fail. I told my mom I would buy her a dream house one of these days and I HAVE to do this.

It might sound corny or foolish to some… but this is just another goal I have to accomplish as soon as possible. My parents aren’t going to be around forever… neither will I.

If I were rich – I’d probably go broke trying to make everyone around me happy… but I just need to make sure I set certain goals and keep my mind focused on those goals and nothing else.

So, Failure is NOT an option. I just have to keep grinding the gears until I get to where I need to be.

I believe 2008 is going to be the best year of my life. I truly do believe this. Not because I want to… not because I have to. I just do. Everything seems to be going great for the most part and I just get that “feeling” deep down inside.

I’m single AGAIN and loving it. I feel great. I honestly feel better at this point in my life than ever. I think I messed things up over the summer with a bad decision and killed a ton of revenue but now I see that… then – I did not. I feel so much more accomplished over the past month and a half than I ever have in my life. It makes me FEEL like a million bucks, even though I don’t have it! =)

But my new journey is going strong and I feel like I’ve got a ton of Blog Entries to post and I will do so over the next few months, guaranteed.

I’m going to try to post my entire journey and keep this blog updated as much as possible so keep an eye out!

Changing Focus

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

This past week I’ve been thinking of changing my blog around. I just didn’t know what I wanted to do with it…

So I figured I would keep it a little more focused.

Since I am heavily involved in Affiliate and search engine marketing – I figured I would start focusing a little more in these areas and hopefully save a few people some serious cash and time in their “learning experience”.

I’ve spent a ton of money over the past few months and will continue to do so as I continue to grow my Business. I am completely in love with this business (Affiliate Marketing) and can hardly go to sleep at night and cannot wait to wake up and get started the next day. I love it. I am in love with it…

So over the next few days I will continue to build onto this blog and try to come up with some better serving content focused around these areas.

Things such as Landing Pages, Google AdWords, Microsoft AdCenter, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Keyword Research, Planning, etc.

I’ll also explain programs such as Wealthy Affiliate, Keyword Spy, Keyword Discovery, WordTracker, etc.

I’ll introduce GOOD books (Beating Adwords, Definitive guide to adwords, etc) and HORRIBLE books (junk like Butterfly Marketing, Internet Millions, etc) that you can check out.

Stay tuned… let’s see if I enjoy writing about this stuff as much as I enjoy participating in it =)

Urban Legend Emails

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

Ughh. I’m so tired of people forwarding me stupid emails that sound so ridiculous. I got some Jay Leno “hit the nail on the head” positivity speech email early this morning and just opened it about an hour ago and thought “how stupid is this”.

First off… JAY LENO WOULD NOT give a speech like this. I mean SERIOUSLY… is there THAT MANY ignorant people online to believe Jay Leno would make a speech like that? Ha!

Maybe Mr. Leno has turned to a sappy Bush Lover all the sudden? No…

Here’s what the email says:

“The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine
and came across some poll data I found rather hard
to believe. It must be true given the source, right?

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of
Americans are unhappy with the direction the country
is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy
with the performance of the president. In essence,
2/3s of the citizenry just ain’t happy and want a change.

So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started
thinking, ”What we are so unhappy about?”

Is it that we have electricity and running water 24
hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the
result of having air conditioning in the summer and
heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of
these unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability
to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more
food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean
to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification
papers as we move through each state? Or possibly the
hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the
way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having
thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around
the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when
we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide
services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you
to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans
who own a home. You may be upset with knowing that
in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained
firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch
equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you,
your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home
watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or
prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a
bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your
family against attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of
a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and
pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent
of teenagers own cell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and political
freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the
world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks
unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful,
spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the
world loves the U.S., yet has a great disdain for its citizens.
They see us for what we are. The most blessed people
in the world who do nothing but complain about what we
don’t have, and what we hate about the country instead
of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took
us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president
who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the
same president who guided the nation in the dark days after
9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy
out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been
called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all
the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?

The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army
that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how
bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news
affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn’t
take a look around for yourself and see all the good things
and be glad?

Think about it……are you upset at the President because
he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the
“Media” told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful
behind every day.

Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases
may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft
in this country. They didn’t have to go.

They are able to refuse to go and end up with
either a ”general” discharge, an ”other than honorable”
discharge or, worst case scenario, a ”dishonorable”
discharge after a few days in the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the
minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you
want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads
and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch
a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch
kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows
this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They
offer what sells , and when criticized, try to defend
their actions by “justifying” them in one way or another.
Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J.
Simpson to write a book about how he didn’t kill his wife,
but if he did he would have done it this way……Insane!

Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by
the media. Shut off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the
New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then
start being grateful for all we have as a country. There
is exponentially more good than bad.

We are among the most blessed people on Earth and
should thank God several times a day, or at least be
thankful and appreciative.”

“With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control,
mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up
the country from one end to another, and with the
threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, “Are we sure this is
a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?”

Jay Leno

I love how corny Republican fan boys try to put another famous persons name on cheesy PR Tactics to make a bad President look good. Haha!

What The Hell Does ICANN Do?

Category: My Life | 3 Comments

I have a major beef with ICANN.

Recently (in September) I had had 99 Domains Terminated by 1and1 because I changed banks and they charged the wrong card… OK – so they did not remind me that I had Domains that needed to be renewed… I would have just slowly transferred them all to GoDaddy.com!

So, instead, I contacted 1and1.com and they told me that my account was “going to be terminated by October 3rd unless I paid for the remainding balance of $103.56″. Not a problem… I called them up and they told me to call their Collections Agency. Hmmm… K, not a problem. So I paid my bill, was happy and called 1and1.com back and guess what?

This is great…

They told me “Oh, your account was terminated already. In September.” I let them know they were mistaken… I had just gotten an email from their Billing Department stating I had to pay by October 3rd.

Nope… they simply LIED to me to get me to pay.

What could I do now that all my domains (all 99) had been renewed within the past 3 months for over $600? They tell me there’s nothing I could do… all my domains were locked and would be deleted.

So, after spending two weeks talking to people from India, who spoke little English and who represented an American Company – I was finally told I could solve the problem easily…..

…all I had to do was transfer my domains from within the company to a new account!

Awesome!

So how do I do this?

Oh…

They wanted me to pay them ANOTHER $600 TO TRANSFER THEM TO A NEW ACCOUNT! HA!

So after they made me pay for my domains – I could not touch them. It’s like going to McDonalds – ordering a #1 and then they tell me I can’t touch it… but I CAN pay them again so that I could eat my meal I already paid for!

Companies these days are great.

So I decided to contact ICANN. I was happy because ICANN states in their the following:

Are registrars required to give renewal notices to domain name holders before the expiry of a domain name?

Under ICANN’s Registrar Accreditation Agreement domain name holders have to be sent an email notice prior to a domain expiring. The email address will be the one you list on WHOIS, so it is important for you to keep it up to date. If the email is sent to the email address on WHOIS, and that address is no longer valid, the Registrars may little other chance of contacting you.

Great!

So I let 1and1.com know that they were breaking their Accreditation Agreement and they sent me the following, not once but TWICE!

Thank you for contacting us.

We do not provide email notification for when domains are about to renew. It would be your responsibility to monitor and maintain domain’s renewal dates. This is all outlined within the terms and conditions that you had agreed to upon signing up.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
Joseph Quinn

3.3.

3.5.

ALL 1&1 SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO YOU ON AN “AS IS” BASIS, AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
4. Dispute Resolution
4.1.

Each and every such amendment shall be become effective immediately for all pre-existing and future accounts. It is your responsibility to periodically check the 1&1 website for updates of this Agreement.

Did you see it? Yep… cheesy Lawyer Tactics basically saying “hey… if you don’t happen to receive important information – OH WELL!

Yet, they DO state this:

to comply with ICANN policies or requirements, including but not limited to the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP)

Hmmm… so how do we expect to take ICANN serious if 1&1 is so scandalous that they make their OWN RULES while claiming they need to follow the ones they just broke?

I contacted ICANN…

What a waste. Do these people seriously consider themselves a HELP?

I explained this information and they basically told me to “f##k off” and to take it up with 1 and 1 internet as they couldn’t do anything.

WHY would they post “regulations” on their Registrars if the said Registrars do not need to follow their “regulations”?

I contacted the BBB and hopefully I get some kind of info quickly. I have several high dollar domains on the list set to delete. I’m pretty f##king pissed off right now although there’s not much I can do.

If anyone has fought 1and1 over this ordeal and won – please contact me ASAP! I’d highly appreciate it.

Unfortunately I own close to 200 domains at this point – through 1and1.com and I need to transfer each and every one to GoDaddy.com but I’d hate to spend MORE damn money on doing so. I mean the 99 on the list I’m pissed off about were all recently renewed and I cannot even touch them. They’re scheduled to “delete” is what is showing on the status area.

1and1 is horrible.

1and1 are ripoffs

1&1 are scam artists

Warning: DO NOT get involved with the phpFoX Affiliate Program

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

This is a warning to anybody wanting to hop onto the phpfox Affiliate Program…

If you’ve had any experience in Affiliate Marketing – you should know that an Affiliate Program is useless unless you know how many sales you have. phpfox took this away from their Affiliates. How sweet of them. Why did they do this? Simple… they got upset that their marketing tactics suck! They were mad because they had to pay their Sales People to make them money. The irony, right?

I was one of their best Affiliates for well over a year and they completely screwed me over. They lied about the number of Sales I had made. They asked me to “confirm” each sale that I made – hoping I COULDN’T do it.

To their surprise – I had come up with 8 confirmed sales one month… but I KNEW that was less than half of the sales I had made that month, besides the few they did pay me for.

They’re horrible in helping out their affiliates… the ones who helped BUILD their company. Without Affiliate – the company would be just another online script. Plain and Simple.

They ignore emails… they ignore requests.

Their Company has gone to hell inside and out. The script is now a joke. Back in the day it was one of the best Scripts available… actually, it was THE best. But now it’s just a nightmare, which is why I sold all 4 of my copies I had.

One thing they don’t keep away from their affiliates is click thru’s. So I did some investigating and noticed my CTR is higher than it’s even been the past 3 months and guess how much money they paid out to me? $22.99!!!

How did this happen? Simple…

They didn’t like the fact that I haven’t been giving positive feedback in forums like I did in the past. Why not? Because, as stated above, their Company is going down the drain. Customer Support is a nightmare. Not the worst but it’s like a 180 compared to what they were back in 2006, when they were the absolute best.

I was used to getting $300+ per month without even promoting their product over the past few months and I KNEW they were still keeping more than 75% of my sales from me. Why would they pay me? They don’t have to… as long as they don’t have to prove how many sales I’VE GOTTEN. Right?

Their Program is an absolute JOKE.

I just made the mistake of being unbiased in forums and letting people know what I thought when I loved the software and what I thought when I disliked the software.

Either way – I get emails all the time from people telling me how they purchased the software through MY LINKS because I had so many good things to say. So I want people to know the truth…

The Software is NOT like it was. Although it’s a better Script from an Object Oriented Programming perspective – the script runs horribly now. They’re stuck in 2006 and they keep taking steps back.

Customer Support is a joke. If you like trying to get answers from people who ask you questions rather than give you answers (although you give them HARDCORE DETAILS) – you’ll love their support. Especially knowing that several of my old clients (not dealing with clients anymore as of 2 weeks ago) had told me they had support “looking” at their problems – made mistakes and then LEFT them hanging for WEEKS!

Only to be given a run around.

I’ve had several clients tell me their Host(s) suspended their accounts because of Query problems.

That sucks. It’s a shame that a Company would go downhill for a few extra bucks.

Best Keyword Tool I’ve Ever Found

Category: My Life | 1 Comment

I’ve used a ton of Keyword Tools over the past few years but now that I’m really in need for the best tools – I can definitely say that I’ve found the best (by far) Keyword Tool available on the Market today.

If you’re an Affiliate – this tool will come in very handy. If you’re trying to spy on your competition and see what they’re using in their PPC Campaigns – you’re going to love it.

The Product is called Keyword Spy.

I’ve been using NicheBot, WordTracker, Keyword Discovery, Keyword Elite, webceo, etc. but this is definitely THE best too I’ve used. I’ve used it to research keywords for new niches, sites, competition, etc.

The best part about it is — it is SO easy to use.

This is the downfall with so many products out there… it takes forever to learn how to use them. By the time you really get a grasp on some of these tools – you might have lost the best time to launch a new site!

Take NicheBot for example. A great tool but, as much as I love Video Tutorials, it’s overkill. It takes you a day just to go through all of the Video Tutorials and, let’s face it, most of us DO NOT have that much time to take off of work.

Keyword Spy is very simple… like the most dumb downed tool I’ve ever used – yet it’s the best, most advanced, tool I’ve used.

You can try the others for yourself but I think that if you’re serious about Keyword Research and the best tools available for Keyword Research – you’re going to fall in love with KeywordSpy!

I’m an Uncle, again!

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

As of this morning – I’m, once again, for the 6th time, an Uncle of a little boy. It makes me feel a little old knowing I don’t have any kids of my own haha.

I’m just glad that everything is OK. Actually, I guess he had fluid in his lungs after birth but they say he’ll be OK.

I’m excited to get to see him tomorrow!

He’s 8 Lb’s and 7 Oz’s. and I his name is Garrett.

UPDATE: They think he may have a lung infection now. That’s not good for a newborn baby, apparently. Now everybody is getting nervous. I just hope he pulls through. =\
