So I started a rumor — out of Speculation that phpFoX was sold, as a company.
Today I’ve been hit with a million questions and now I find myself trying to explain that it was simple speculation and I do NOT know for a fact if it were true or not. Actually, I started believing that something was going on at the beginning of the year but then Drew and Natio (Ray Benc) disappeared from the Forums …
… all the sudden Drew comes in with an announcement that he was leaving phpFoX but would still be around the forums. Also that a major change would be announced on Feb. 1st.
This is why I stated that “I smelled a buyout” and then I also stated that we should all “be prepared” as well as more “straight-to-the-point” comments.
The funny thing about this is that a member on the phpFoX forums “Todd88” had replied (being a smartass) that he was the new owner named “John Wayne Kasey” with a big welcome speech …. next thing I know — rumors continue to fly.
PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE RUMORS WITH REALITY!
I could be 100% wrong … I simply made some comments and I may regret them later haha.
EDIT:
There’s a few people who are now accusing me of some kind of “prank” or “stupid joke”. Uhhhhhh, please DO NOT accuse me of being someone else. I am not Todd88, who was the person who wrote the response which was an obvious joke. PLEASE READ — MY SPECULATIONS ARE NOT JOKES, they’re MY OPINIONS.

Just imagine if Drew and Natio are the same person, just different names… Speculate on that

Hey Kitty,
Yeah, I know what you mean - and I am 99.999% sure that Drew and Natio ARE the same person… but I never said anything about it because of politics.
But, seeing as they don’t seem to take their business as serious as they did - I really don’t care much anymore.
I see they’re still ripping off their affiliates each and every month. Their customers are still waiting for advanced features that will more than likely be FAR, FAR behind in time.
Why? Because they choose to not act like a real business and invest in these features and benefits… the less they rip off affiliates and treat them how they SHOULD be treated - the more sales they make. The more advanced technologies they develop and invest in — the more sales they make, again.
But, they’d rather spend their time making “alias” names that take up too much time and energy - so they have to “retire” those names and create new ones.
It’s a vicious circle.
Natio, under the name DREW, was a great guy and definitely cared about the business… he went out of his way to help customers.
Imagine if he did this under the name NATIO during that time? His business would be twice as popular and much, more more respected.
Instead, they quit giving great customer support and hire people for cheap payment methods… people who do not care about the business, only the money.
And, in essence, they fail along the same lines as 1and1.com, which is the absolute most pathetic company on earth.
Hopefully Natio will read this and wake the hell up. He can easily fix things if he listened to reality these days…

I agree with you Clint.
Unfortunately phpFoX is not doing as good financially as they like everyone to believe. The support desk has been outsourced and the staff are from countries like India, affecting the bound between the company and the customers. They can no longer afford advertising for the script. phpFoX is a sinking ship…

Clint Lenard reply on August 12, 2008:
Thanks for the reply, Kitty.
Yeah, I’ve noticed a lot of things changing as of late. I notice that the Support system is a little odd… I still have a client I do work for and I needed them to answer a question — yet they replied with a really disrespectful reply, unfortunately.
I now send them over $1,000 worth of business each month as an affiliate and I usually only receive approximately 50-60% of that, which is NOT cool.
I send one of their competitors the same amount and get 90-100% of that. I do keep in mind the amount of Refunds, of course.
As a customer - I sold all of my licenses… as an affiliate - I sometimes feel like bailing on them. I guess I’ll stick around to see what happens over the next few months. Hopefully things pick up!
But, unfortunately, I do see them as a sinking ship as well. They should be kicking themselves for letting little kids run their forums - rather than using the old mods who were doing them justice. I was one that they let go… yet, I was the one who brought them the most business - and when I was let go — took at least 10% of their customers without even saying a word.
They don’t seem to think before doing things.
Take the release of “2.0″, for example. It’s going to be 2 years late IF it even arrives in 2009!

Oops.. I said $1,000 in Business. I meant in commissions - which comes out to about 10+ SALES of the script, not to mention all of the leases…
