This Week In Football: USC goes Down, Vanderjagt released, Florida gets BCS Championship game

Wow, I love Football. A whole week of upsets and close calls. Gotta love it!

Okay so A) most people know I hate USC. I can’t stand rich kids (University of Spoiled Children) and well…I believe they get away with too much from the NCAA. I find it amazing that half their good players were NOT rich kids and yet still roll in a Benz? Reggie Bush, anyone?

Yeah so I ran my mouth and said that Notre Dame would knock them off once more…BUT if they didn’t — UCLA WOULD. Thankfully, I was right. UCLA’s defense dominated the game and put a whoopin’ on that @ss! w00t!

Oklahoma beat Nebraska… yeah, what’s new. Rutgers lost to WV! Didn’t see that one coming and it sucked… I was rooting for Rutgers in that one. Oh well!

Arkansas blew their game versus Florida. Not the Hogs allowed a mediocre team to get a spot in the National Championship. C’mon… Florida is NOT that good. Chris Leak is very shaky in big games but got a few lucky runs. Yeah, I do hope they knock off Ohio State, though. I don’t think either team is as good as they’re ranked.

This is why the NCAA needs to at least TRY a playoff system. I truly believe at this point that Oklahoma, Auburn, USC, LSU and Michigan are much stronger than either teams. Yeah, Michigan lost to OSU once — so good reason to give them another shot! But Florida just doesn’t strike me as being a strong team. Hopefully they prove me wrong in the Title game and blow OSU out of the water. Troy Smith definitely doesn’t deserve the attention he’s been getting. Taking money, admitting it and still a “heisman hopeful” bothers the hell out of me. Who cares if he “talks to kids about what he did wrong”? Of course he does! he had to! Why let kids see someone who BROKE RULES not only get to play but WIN big awards? Why even have rules? Why not let teams become like Oklahoma of the mid 80’s? That worked well, didn’t it Mr. Switzer?

Speaking of Barry… The Cowboys dropped the most accurate kicker ever (Vanderjagt) this week which surprised most of the players on the team. The next day they got Martin ‘automatica’ Grammatica who was destined to become the teams new favorite player…it would just make an awesome story. And it sure did today… as Danny White said before the game “Martin Grammatica will win the game for the Cowboys” — he was correct. With seconds on the board and the game tied - Gramatica nailed a 46 Yard Field goal to win it for the Boys.

Kansas City lost in OT to the BROWNS. Wow… not sure how that’s going to blow over for a team who was looking at a Playoff Birth but the future holds little hope for that subject.

The Titans, once again, came back to win a big game for the second week in a row. Vince Young should have been the Number 1 pick in the Draft and he’s definitely showing it now!

A good week it was…
