Bush And Cheney Say: If it moves, Kill it! Save The Wolves!

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

Once again, the Bush-Cheney tag team has come to murder more creatures of the earth without blinking an eye.

Help Save the Wolves of the Northern Rockies! I donated to the cause and hopefully you will too…

The stage has been set for the largest massacre of wolves to occur in the lower 48 United States in decades. Unless we stop it, hundreds of wolves — including mothers and pups — could die.

Defenders of Wildlife has launched emergency action to save these wolves, but we need your help. Please support our work with your tax-deductible year-end donation!

Last week, officials in the Bush-Cheney Administration announced their intent to strip wolves of crucial Endangered Species Act protections across most of Wyoming and de-list wolves in Idaho, where the state is poised to kill 75% of the wolves living in the Lolo district of the Clearwater National Forest.

But removing federal protections for wolves is extremely premature. Neither state has addressed the issues that once brought these magnificent animals to the brink of extinction.

Wyoming wants roughly two-thirds of its wolves killed — 9 out of 16 packs outside the state’s national parks. Idaho’s “management” plan would allow even more wolves to be killed, eliminating as many as 54 of the state’s 65 packs.

In both states, aerial gunning could be used to kill unwanted wolves. Gunners in low-flying aircraft would target wolves, running them to exhaustion and/or killing them from above. Some wolves could be wounded, only to die later from their injuries.

Help support our work to save wolves in Wyoming and Idaho. Please make an emergency donation online right now to support these and other efforts…

  • Challenging the Proposal in the Courts. We’re moving full-steam ahead with legal challenges to these proposals, working with other state, local and national conservation groups to ensure that our wolves will be around for future generations.
  • Mobilizing Grassroots Activists. Already, we’ve mobilized tens of thousands of activists to speak out against Wyoming and Idaho’s disastrous plans.
  • Spotlighting Wolf Management in the Media. We’re keeping this issue front-and-center in the media, building support around common-sense wolf management in the Northern Rockies. With your help, we’ll be able to produce and air a new series of radio advertisements to shift the debate over wolf management away from over-blown claims of livestock loss and elk hunting declines and toward a sensible approach that better balances the needs of ranchers and hunters with the health of local ecosystems.

A formal federal proposal on wolf management is expected sometime in the next few weeks. We need to raise $40,000 before the end of the year to fund our comprehensive strategy for sensible wolf management in the Northern Rockies.

Please make a tax-deductible donation online right now to support these efforts.

With so much at stake, we’re not about to stop fighting for a future where wolves can safely be removed from the Endangered Species List without fear that they will once more return to the brink of extinction.

Dropping Affiliate Programs …

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

What do you do when you feel as if Companies gave you less in order to give themselves a better Christmas gift? Drop them! :-)

Okay, maybe making statements like that is unfair but I’ve got two programs that are usually successful with a decent amount of Traffic and for some odd reason – they both had the WORST months ever, thus far.

Conversion rates down = simple answer? Could be the culprit…it would be the obvious answer. But how can the Unique Traffic be at it’s highest and the Conversion Ratio be at it’s lowest? Doesn’t make sense … especially knowing that several other programs had their best months ever. Of course those were with much bigger, more respectable companies as well.

Oh well… it looks like it’s time to drop one that seems to be taking up too much time to promote. I could easily spend that time promoting higher paying programs that did good during the Holidays, right? I guess we’ll see. One Company has treated me good but I feel I got ‘jipped’ this month as I’ve had several people tell me they purchased through me but either they’re liars or this Company is not Measuring Sales correctly … i.e. their Software is jacked.

What a Christmas!

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

Christmas was great this year…actually, it was the BEST Christmas I’ve had in 5 years! I got presents for everybody and they were “sincerely” excited about them … that’s a great feeling. I got a new Guitar that’s VERY nice, along with some clothes and shoes and gift certificates.

But the best thing was seeing the joy and happiness on everybody’s faces when they opened my Presents to them. ;-)

Now I just need to get my Treo 650 fixed (not charging all the sudden) and Christmas will be even better! Maybe I’ll just sell it “as is” and wait for the new Treo to be released … I hear it’s coming soon…?

Hope you all had a great Christmas this year!!!

Everyone’s in Marketing these days…

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

I find it odd that everyone becomes a Marketer overnight these days … now I’m not just speaking of “Internet Marketing Gurus” who create nifty sales letters — no I’m talking about people who work in Sales as well.

I just can’t believe how many people do SALES and believe they’re a Marketer because of this? Marketing and Sales are two completely separate entities and are not as closely related as some Corporate sales people truly believe. Creating Flyers or other “marketing materials” does not give you the right to consider yourself a Marketer either. ;-)

I’m just wondering why everyone calls themselves Marketers or labels their job as ‘Marketing’ in any way, shape or form if they’re truly not even remotely close?

Ehhhhh… just a quick rant. I just noticed 3 different people make these claims while working as Sales People who have customers COME TO THEM via the Marketing techniques employed by others, efficient or not.

So to all of you Sales people or (Department) Managers or even Secretaries who make those claims of being in Marketing — make sure you really are before you tell people this. Everyone appreciates “props” from others but make sure those who work hard at their jobs as Marketers  get their thunder before you steal it away, especially if you know nothing about Marketing :-)

Against The War?

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

So am I. You might want to take a look at this:

Dear Clint,Since President Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, almost 3,000 American troops and approximately 650,000 Iraqi civilians have died as a result.  Our nation has spent more than $350 billion to fund this war while support for it has dropped to abYSMal lows – along with the President’s approval ratings.  This disastrous war is the reason Americans delivered a mandate for change in the 2006 midterm election.

And yet, very little has changed. President Bush still refuses any sane recommendations to end the war in Iraq, and the Democratic leadership is saying that they won’t vote to end the funding for the war, either.

That’s not even close to good enough.  That’s why we’re asking you to Join Peace Action and United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) when we march on Washington on Saturday, January 27, and then meet to lobby Congress on Monday, January 29!

The American public has unequivocally demanded a major change in Iraq policy.  Peace Action and UFPJ want real plans for troop withdrawal, diplomacy and reconstruction now, not half-hearted promises or requests for even more troops to be sent to Iraq.

On January 27, hundreds of thousands of ignored Americans will demand a change from Washington by coming here and making their voices heard.  Two days later, on January 29th, we will follow up by taking our message directly to Congress with a massive lobby day.  (And on January 28, the day between, there will be lobby trainings, along with other meetings, trainings, and some planned entertainment.)  Contact your local affiliate chapter to see who is going to the march, and join Peace Action in creating real change in American foreign policy.

Thank you for your dedication to peace – we hope to see you on the 27th-29th!

Sincerely,

Kevin M. Martin

Interesting and I hope they get a TON of extra people involved in this. I know I can’t make it unfortunately, but I definitely support the project!

Cheaters DO prosper! Troy Smith wins the Heisman

Like I said: Troy Smith doesn’t deserve the Heisman Trophy awards but like so many before him who cheated, he won.

What a great panel of judges we have here. Pathetic.

3 Months of No Smoking

Category: My Life | Leave a Comment

Wow, so another Month of not smoking has gone by. On Friday I officially broke the 3-Month No Smoking goal! :)

That’s a quarter of a year… that’s awesome! 9 Years of Smoking and many, many failed attempts to quit but finally I feel like a “non smoker” mentally. I’ve been WAY more active lately – playing Football with my nephews, running and playing with my dog, etc, etc. I still have a hard time catching my breath but hey…I never expected it to be easy. :)
