What on earth is going on???

Files under AJAX and JavaScript, My Life, security, web 2.0 | Posted by Clint Lenard

So all day today I’ve been having issues with vBulletin. And no, I’m not talking about one forum - I’m talking about nearly every vBulletin I’ve posted on today which is around 5-6 forums.

First I was having issues with the PHPFox forums and noticed the replies were going towards the top of the thread — as in my replies were showing up #1 … then I had problems with a Private Message showing up as one user - then when I clicked on it - it showed an older (1 month ago) PM I had already read. So…

So I thought it was just something on the PHPFox forums until I went to another forum and seen one of my replies end up going on top of the last post that I had replied to.

First I was thinking this could be a Firefox issue but others were having similar problems with IE and Opera as well.

So now what could the problem be? Both of the forums I mentioned are seperate Servers and different IP Blocks, etc. Could this be some type of worm? I did notice the only vBulletin that wasn’t having these issues seemed to be prior to the AJAX Quick Reply boxes …  could this be a security vulnerability? A new AJAX exploit of some kind?

Well, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself but I’m definately not the only one noticing these problems! Something is definately fishy!

I found out that these problems were being caused from cPanel.
